Don’t fancy the idea of crowds and traffic? Do your shopping online. If you have had it with traditional holiday shopping you are not alone. Even the most fearless and most organized holiday shopping divas tire from the endless crowds and cheesy holiday music. Luck for us in this day and age there is another option: internet shopping.

Internet shopping is sweeping the nation and is quickly become a very normal occurrence. Yet as any shopping diva knows there are a few ins and outs that can greatly increase your success.

Shop Savvy

First off, just because you can shop from home in your undies does not mean that you need any less preparation. You are a shopping diva, after all, and just because you are taking your list into cyberspace instead of retail space does not eliminate the need to check it twice. Once you have prepared your list with the utmost care, then you are ready to shop.

Shop Safe

With identity theft being an ever-growing threat, one of the first things an internet shopping diva needs to know is how to make her funds secure. There are a few ways to do this. One of the first ways is to make certain you only give out credit card information on secured websites.

Check if the site is secure by looking for a padlock icon on your browser window. If there is no such icon, the site is not secure and you shouldn’t give out your information. Never ever give out credit card information in email. Email is not secure.

Other security measures include using the same credit card to make all your online purchases. This card should carry a low spending limit. That way if your information is stolen the culprit can’t rack up huge bills. Also using just one card eliminates the question of what card was used when or if you need to contest a charge.

Shop Smart

One of the great things about taking the shopping online is that there are tons of review websites. When shopping in person at Holiday Toddler Toy Emporium, the only review you are likely to get about a toy is from the box, fellow shoppers or the teenage sales clerk. These resources often leave much to be desired.

Not so with online stores. Reviews are plentiful, detailed and have real life experience. This kind of information at your fingertips will help you avoid poor purchases.

Shop Savings

Hesitate to shop online because you think the cost is too much? This is not true. You can use the same coupons online as in the store for cost savings. In addition to coupon savings you rarely need to pay sales tax on online purchases. This is a savings of on average 8% right back into your pocket.

Shipping costs are a concern, but if you shop early you can avoid high express shipping rates as well as the trip to the post office when you need to send your three-year-old nephew his Christmas gift.

Barcelona has an excellent nightlife, simply reason being that there are lots of foreigners, students, and locals alike. While in Barcelona, you will be able to find every kind of nightclubs, bars, dance clubs, jazz bars and clubs, sports bars, cocktail bars, karaoke bars and pubs. Whatever you’re looking for, Barcelona nightlife is bound to have it!

You can start by visiting Baja Beach Club

A nice relaxed night of conversation over a few drinks not your idea of a good time? Then Baja Beach Club, (Passeig Martim, 34) might be more your style. The beach club features topless bartenders, waitresses in bikinis, and more bronzed, half-naked bodies than you can shake a stick at. Follow the hordes of students and tourists to one of the themed bars and dance the night away to sugary-sweet pop music. If you want to make a repeat performance of it, consider trying to get on the VIP list, where you’ll be implanted, yes, you heard us right, with a microchip in your forearm which connects to your bank account and lets you just wave your arms, literally, when you want another drink. How this is legal is beyond us, but who knows…it could be the future of clubs.

International Sounds

Ibiza party spot Pacha now has locations in a few other cities, and Barcelona’s on Avda. Donctor Maraon certainly lives up to the hype. The huge, stark white disco features the latest in great DJs from Ibiza as well as live music nights, six different bars, a chill-out room and a terrace. The crowd is young and hip, so be sure to break out your best duds to ensure you don’t get turned away by the doorman. Entry is steep, at ?15 with a drink, but the amazing sound-system and never-ending beats make it worth the price.

Great live music

Spain isn’t well-known for its live music scene, but Razzmatazz (c/Almogvers) is trying to change all that. Not only do they attract top artists like Miss Kitty and Blur, it also brings together the most diverse group of dance fiends you’ll see this side of Berlin. It’s a huge warehouse space which brings together five different clubs, featuring funk, house and dance music.

Downstairs, check out the latest indie rock at the Razz Club, or head upstairs for techno at The Loft and Lo*Li*Ta. Pop, electro and disco take center stage at The Pop Room and The Rex Room. Grab a taxi to get there, as it’s in an industrial part of the city about ten minutes outside the center.

Today’s tough economic climate has made people much more aware of what they are spending their money on. This may mean that you need to lower the amount of dollars you spend each month on clothing. However, this does not mean you should go to work in your birthday suit.

Stores are yearning to sell consumers discount suits as much as people are yearning to buy them. I wrote this article to give you a better idea of where to find these discounts.

Places to look for discount suits have grown past estate sales, thrift stores, and yard sales. People can use these places to get great deals on used clothing. However, discounts on new suits can currently be found at department stores, store closings, and all over the web.

Searching the local Sunday newpaper has become a great way to find nice local deals at department stores. Your local Sears or Macy’s department store can be a great place to find slashed prices.

Consumers that are not afraid to buy clothing without a return policy should check out store closings. These stores have set close dates and must sell all of their products before they shut down. I have gotten great deals off of some of these tragedies in the past.

Yard sales and estate sales are still viable places to find discount suits. Look for these sales in your local newspaper or classified ad to find some of these hot spots for great used suits.

Shopping local thrift stores can be a fun way to save money on local used suits. However, this is not always the most efficient way to quickly find some nice suits.

Web sites all over the world can provide suits at much lower prices than most brick and mortar stores. These companies have fewer overhead costs and as a result you save money by buying from them rather than a traditional store.

We just came back from a Caribbean cruise on a Princess ship with our ten month old daughter. We had such a wonderful time that we are now planning our next cruise vacation.

Planning for your trip is essential. There are so many things to consder and travel with a baby means that you need to pack more than you would without a baby. Here are the things that we thing you absolutely have to have when going on a cruise with a young baby.

1. Probably the most important thing for the cruise is taking a comfortable stroller that is foldable. Having a stroller makes it easy to get around on the ship and in the airport when travelling to the cruise. We used the stroller for morning walks on the ship, for taking our daughter to meals on the ship, and in the evening we bathed her, put her in pyjamas and then put her in the stroller as we enjoyed the excitement of walking around the ship in the evening. She fell asleep every evening in her stroller.

2. Make sure that you have enough diapers for your baby during the vacation - but don’t bring them from home. First figure out before you leave how many diapers your child go through in a normal day - and then multiply that number by the number of days on your vacation. If your vacation involves air travel (like ours did) you won’t want to have to bring the diapers from home - if you do that means that they will have to be checked as checked baggage. Instead, do what we did. Our ship cruised out of Fort Lauderdale in Florida. We had time from when our flight arrived in Florida to when we had to be on the ship. So from the airport we took a cab to a nearby Target store and purchased the diapers that we needed for the cruise and some other baby supplies before getting another taxi to the ship.

3. One thing to do on a cruise ship - especially when it is hot is to go to the kiddies pool with your child and cool off in the pool. In order for your child to go into the pool they have to wear swim diapers or they have to be toilet-trained.

4. Formula - consider packing enough powder formula for the duration of the trip. We purchased the required formula in Fort Lauderdale rather than bring it from home. Keep in mind that any formula entering the ship must be sealed & in the original container.

5. Kettle - taking a kettle (with an auto shutoff) on the trip means that you can boil water and know that you have safe water to mix with the powdered formula.

6. Formula dispenser - having a powder formula dispenser means that you can fill the bottles with clean water and when baby is ready to eat, you can just pour the pre-measured formula into the water and shake the bottle.

7. Not having a spot to put your dirty diapers will cause some problems with odor in your cabin on the ship. Let your room steward know that you will have some smelly diapers - he will come to your room more often to remove them. And we took with us scented bags for putting the dirty diapers. They really helped control the odors in our room, and they were also useful on our air flight. They can be purchased at a dollar store or Babies r Us.

8. Soap for baby’s bath. Most cruise cabins don’t have a bathtub - ours did not. What we did was plug the drain on the shower and put enough water in the shower in order to give our baby her bath.

9. Sun Cabana - if your cruise is taking you to a warm climate like the Caribbean purchase a very lightweight sun cabana before your trip. You can use it when you visit the beach during the cruise. Keeps baby comfortable and protected from the sun. If you rent a cabana on the beach it will cost about $80 to $100.

10. Zip lock bags - these are great for everything - snack holders, put really dirty/soiled clothes away until you get home. Use for things that leak - (ex. medicine). Use the bags on the ship to pack bibs, spoons to go for dinner so when they are dirty you can throw in the bag & clean when you get back to your room.

There are more items to consider, but start your list with these essentials items.

Buying jewelry a woman can be challenging. When it’s done right, it’s a romantic, meaningful and even magical gesture. It can also be daunting, even intimidating process. But a little knowledge, planning, and preparation can go a long way towards making you hero of the story.

You have choices of the type of jewelry, rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. Then you have choices of metals, yellow gold, white gold, platinum, silver and more. And then there are the gems. Make a mental note - real gems are always better than fake gems. Even a small authentic gem is preferable to a large fake gem. If you have any doubts, ask a woman.

To figure out what she wants, listen when she talks about jewelry. Some women like to drop hints. Think about her personality and lifestyle. If she’s conservative, she might like simple, classic jewelry. Does she enjoy handmade or artisan items? Consider something unique and handcrafted made with fine materials. Does she line frills and lace? You get the idea. Do any of these styles show up in her jewelry box?

How do you find out her size? Your first and best option is to ask her friends and family. A good backup is to look at the pieces in her jewelry box and measure any rings, necklaces, and bracelets she owns. If all else fails, take one or more of her pieces into a jewelry store for sizing. You should make notes for later on.

Other than important occasions like anniversaries, the price tag isn’t as important as some may think. It’s the thought (and the preparation) that counts for most women. If you’re still dating, a good general rule to follow is that the value of the gift should be based on how long you’ve been together. If you spend too much things can get awkward. If you spend too little you look cheap.

Where to start? Start by surfing the Web. Learn jewelry basics. Learn about different metals, and gems. Get a feel for prices. Locate some retailers in your area. Do you need a list of birthstones? Make notes. This information will be useful for future purchases.

Most guys aren’t used to actually shopping for items. Most often we march in grab what we need and head for the door. This time you need to shop. Compare the quality, value and price of jewelry across several stores. If you’ve done your homework, this part should be easy. When you’re ready to buy, choose an established company. If you need them later, they’ll be there for you.

How should you present the gift? Will it be in a romantic setting? How about as an unexpected surprise? You want her to remember it for a long time, so be original.

In the 1930s, physicists started discovering a whole zoo full of exotic atomic particles. There were muons and kaons and who-knows-what-else-ons. When told of these, the famous physicist Enrico Fermi said: ‘If I wanted to remember all that I would have become a botanist.’ Ironically, later he invented the process used in atomic bombs.

This has almost become the case with types of coffee. There are so many wonderful varieties out there to try. But who can remember them all? We may not remember the names but we will not quickly forget the taste. Let’s consider some uniquely names creations.

The Frappe is one ??” not spelled the way it sounds, the e is silent. Espresso with milk and sugar added and poured over ice. To make it interesting add a bit of crme de cacao and brandy. This is really a refreshing drink.

Another that gets it name from a its killer taste ??” the Cappuccino Borgia. Not just an ordinary espresso, this drink includes the sweetness of 1 cup of chocolate ice cream, the tang of 6 tbsp of orange juice cup of milk and cup of orange (peeled). It has a taste to die for.

Re-enter the 21st century and jet to the Caribbean for a Calypso Cooler. A cup of chilled, extra strength coffee gets subjected to a couple of ripe bananas and two cups of coffee ice cream. Add four tablespoons of rum and lose your luggage.

Lets go Latin with the Caffee Zabaglone. This starts with an Italian coffee blend, dark roast. Take cup of Marsala; add 1 cup of sugar 4 eggs and a sprinkle of salt. Blend these together and heat until it is think. Then pour it over your Italian blend cooled to room temperature. This is one cup of coffee sure to wake you up.

But the ancestors of Rome have nothing on those of France in modern New Orleans. Add double strength American roast to a half-cup each of heavy cream, eggnog and bourbon and you have a Mardi Gras, with a silent ’s’. Too bad the crowd isn’t silent - it’s 4 a.m. and I’m trying to sleep.

Cardamom Kaffee is a Scandinavian drink. It is a dark strong drink with a flavor borrowed from Turkey but perfected in this excellent blend. This Scandinavian recipe is a must try.

In your microwave heat the mixture of 1/8 cup of cognac 2 tsp of curacao and 2 tsp of sugar along with a cardamon pod which you have opened to remove the seeds. Heat for only 10 seconds and the put a match to it. Add your coffee and prepare yourself for something different!

Hats off to the creators of these wonderful coffee blends. Their inventions may not be saving the world but they sure are making it a more enjoyable place. There has been some amazing creativity shown with coffee. Our taste buds are forever grateful.

One of the most talked about subject for the seasoned travel and the vacation traveler is to check your bags, do you carry on or ship ahead your bags. There are as many answers to these questions as there are people as it really is an individual thing. What brought this subject up is the new fees for checking your luggage.

So we are going to just talk about some of the way different people look at each of these ways to get your bags where you are going and back home again.

Seems that the people that have lost their luggage, their luggage was on another airplane because of a delay, their plane was re-routed and got separated from their luggage are the ones that say, I will always carry on my luggage. The inconvenience of not having my luggage for a day and sometimes days is just to inconvenient.

How some of those people handle that situation now, is hire a luggage service to ship their luggage, but the rest of the group resorts to carrying it on and the huge inconvenience of that, right down to the restrictive packing and limiting your items you want on your trip/vacation.

The passengers who are all for checking luggage say that lugging the baggage all over the airport, on and off the airplane, longer time at security, just is not worth it, they feel that they can save much more time and aggravation by checking their luggage. Many seasoned travelers say that they have not had lost luggage hardly at all and the couple times that has happened it was delivered in a timely manner directly by the airport.

Most all people agree that the airline personnel on the plane needs to supervise the limits and sizes of the carry ons and if they aren’t the correct size and limits they that they tell them they have to be checked. Of course this takes additional time for the airline and now that flights are on a tighter schedule this is hard for everyone.

My one suggestion is for the physically challenged of any kind, is to check their bags, it is just easier for everyone concerned and easier to get help at the parting and arriving airports; and for you. The rest of you, just try all the different methods and see which one works best for you.

With the economic crisis looming over heads every day it seems like less and less people are willing to take their vacations, and while it is smart to take care of your finances it doesn’t mean you have to give up your vacations to do so. There are new developments in helping someone have a great vacation without breaking their bank account.

The first step in helping your vacation costs is to use the Internet to your advantage. Many websites are now offering a place to look for deals without having to go any farther than the comfort of your home. You can open your favorite search engine and quickly find many websites that allow you to use their database in finding a place to stay during your vacation stay. Some websites even offer traveling packages that will combine your airfare with your hotel stay, helping you save money that you can use for other things for your trip. If you plan on booking your hotel online you can also find promotional coupon codes that will also help you save money. One way to find these is by joining a travel message board. Most are free to join, and members are there to offer tips, advice and goodies - including coupon codes, where to find the best and cheapest deals, and hot spots. You can even read their reviews for consideration.

Even with all the help you can find online, there are still a few other things you can do to help save money on your vacation. One is to book your vacation in the off-season of the year, or even styaing in a hotel during the week. Most people like to book their hotel stays during the weekend, and hotels like to take advantage of that by raising their prices. If you are willing to do without some amenities that most popular hotel chains like to offer you might be able to find some luck by booking with an independent hotel.

This also will help if you don’t mind staying a little farther out than your actual vacation destination. Don’t hesitate in talking with your family and friends. You might be surprised in finding a great deal of information about a place you haven’t thought of before. Using the hotel managers to your advantage by approaching them with the best of intentions might also help you save even more money than you would have expected. They are there to willing to help guide you in you use the right approach. They might even give you a few pointers towards a better deal!

Many people feel shy or worried that they won’t get the best out of their vacation, but with a little research you can end up with more bang for your buck. Having a great vacation doesn’t mean you have to deal out a bunch of money. By cutting some unnessecaries, you’ll end up giving yourself even more options so that you can feel better and enjoy your vacation.
